I am a therapist, teacher, photographer and published author. I am a lover of life and nature. My husband and I live off the grid on a remote 40 acre island near Drummond Island in the far eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This blog is about my life, a life I thought I’d never be able to live. This blog is about dreams and ideals being manifested. It is about daily events with a backwoods twist. It is about the simple pleasures and wonders being brought forth. I invite you to be inspired and even, as some friends have, live vicariously through my words.
You can find out more about my therapy practice and dissection classes at http://www.islandwellnesscntr.com or my SomaCentric Dialoguing classes and book, The Insightful Body, at http://www.CLEARInstitute.net.

Hi Corey,
Thanks for the follow and the blogger award. I’m flattered.
Julie
You’re very welcome Julie! 🙂
Hello Julie,
I’m Una and I stumbled upon your thoughtful blog while doing some research.
I run a popular travel blog Lets-Get-Lost.com in Toronto, Canada.
This fall I will be doing a Guest Post series on Island Living.
I’m looking for writers that live (or have lived) in remote communities to participate. I wondered if you might like share a little bit about your home by answering some questions.
Let me know if you’re interested, I’d love to have you participate and I will be happy to link to any of your work or websites in the post.
My best,
Una
Hi Una,
Thanks for stumbling in my direction. I’d be happy and honored to be involved with your Island Living blog series.
Warmly,
Julie
Hello Julie,
I live on a remote island far away from you in the far north of Australia and I blog erratically about remote living with two small kids. This year I resolved to search for and link with other remote writers and came across your blog. I have to say I love the thigh boots post.
Sara
Hi Sara,
I’d be happy to have you link to my blog. I had trouble with internet service for a few months and have finally gotten service again; part of living on an island.
Glad you liked the hips boots post. It was fun to create.
Julie
